A newsletter focused on providing information for Dallas Fort Worth cigar enthusiasts, thecigarWRAPPER.com, was introduced in the Winter of 2005.
An cigar tobacco leaf was stretched across a scanner glass to achieve the imagery of a cigar wrapper in the background of the non-traditional letterforms used in the Internet banner to attract a broader range of readers. The intent was to appeal not only to the classic cigar aficionado, or collector, but to attract the younger audience of new cigar enthusiasts.
Gems-n-Gold.com was a specialty online pawn shop offering unique gemstones, diamonds and gold jewelry. The core business strategy to provide specialty gemstones of a unique nature, was the basis for the color applications for the letters of the word “GEMS”, as well as the gold highlights applied to the remaining section of the logo.
Industry research identified the following specialty stones: purple amethyst, blue sapphire, green emerald and red ruby, which were chosen as the final colors.
